A recent study concluded that roughly 7% of high school athletes (1 out of 13) will go on to play college sports.

The advent of the “transfer portal” combined with the injection of European recruiting has created narrow pathways for traditional student-athletes to be noticed.

Simply stated, less than 2% of all high school student-athletes will ever wear an NCAA Division 1 uniform. Additionally, the journey to play “at the next level” is more competitive than ever before and the engagement of club sports and private training is at a premium. That premium comes with a price as most parents will spend more on club fees, equipment, summer camps, and travel to play out -of-state tournaments then they will regain through a full scholarship for their child.

To that end, the Quad Cities Sports Initiative is a non-profit organization that supports the education, training, and empowerment of young underserved and/or underprivileged athletes, assisting them in becoming motivated and passionate in achieving their athletic, academic, and future goals.

Our mission doesn’t stop at the playing field or court. The QCSI is committed to supporting the student-athlete beyond the court or playing field by emphasizing the importance of developing life skills through sport.
